Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful traumatic memories, that impact on all areas of their life. Anxiety, anger, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Utilising your existing network and resources in your community, will assist you with recovery. Providing advice, guidance, and helping you determine how to meet your goals is a part of our service. Development of a therapeutic relationship is key to the process during treatment. This type of therapy may take several sessions to complete and in-between sessions you will notice further processing in the brain.

Calling a counsellor is a brave and an important step towards mental wellbeing recovery. At an initial assessment we can assess your concerns, and decide what type of counselling is best for you. EMDR treatment can involve small "t" traumas such as phobias, incidents of bullying/harassment, interpersonal conflicts, legal or financial struggles, marital and relationship difficulties, abandonment, etc. EMDR also treats large "t" traumas including combat/warfare stress, domestic abuse (emotional, physical and financial), sexual assault/rape, natural disasters or terrorism. Before embarking on EMDR treatment, we would need to establish a therapeutic relationship with you in order for you to "trust" us and the process. In some cases assessment, history taking and preliminary counselling may be warranted.
